Ken has extensive executive and board level experience in high growth, high technology global organizations. He has been CEO, Director and Chairman of several companies that achieved Billion+ valuations. He has served as a director in the US and in Asia of eight public company boards in addition to numerous private boards. Ken was most recently Chairman of Newport Corporation (NEWP), which was sold in 2016 for $980M to MKS Instruments. Previously, Ken served as the CEO and Chairman of Maxwell Technologies (MXWL) and Sonicblue (SBLU). Both companies experienced explosive growth by introducing revolutionary technology platforms. Ken has a BSEE from Lafayette College and an MSEE from SMU and an Advanced Professional Director certification. When away from the office, Ken is running, hiking, biking, skiing, snowboarding or on some form of danger-infused adventure travel.
Joe has been building and scaling startups for the last 16 years, which includes co-founding 3 of his own. Prior to Home Bay, Joe co-founded Savings.com, where he served as CTO. A veteran of the online advertising industry, Joe led the design and engineering of the company's technology and marketing platforms. He also played a pivotal role in leading Savings.com through its eventual $100M exit in 2012. Joe holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of California Santa Barbara. In addition to Home Bay, Joe enjoys spending time playing guitar, doing CrossFit, practicing yoga, traveling, and being a die-hard Lakers fan.
Prior to Home Bay, Tom co-founded Zurple, a software company that powers marketing for more than 4,000 realtors and reached #33 on the Inc. 5000 before being acquired in 2015. Tom also started a tech-powered real estate brokerage in Southern California that continues to dominate its local market. He has over a billion dollars in transaction experience, worked in the White House speechwriting office, graduated from law school at UCLA, was an M&A attorney at Cooley and completed his undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley. When he isn't helping Home Bay customers, you may find him playing soccer, skiing or jamming on his guitar.
Prior to Home Bay, Ryan was CEO of Zurple, a software company he cofounded in 2009 and led to a successful exit in 2015. Ryan also cofounded a tech-powered real estate brokerage in Southern California whose expertise in real estate lead generation and conversion was the genesis for Zurple. Earlier in his career, Ryan ran business development and international operations at Savings.com, which was acquired by Cox Media for $100M. Ryan graduated from the MBA program at UCLA Anderson and also completed his undergraduate studies at UCLA. In addition to Home Bay, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, traveling abroad, watching La Liga soccer and drinking European wine.
Chris has been passionately engaged in real estate and technology for two decades. Prior to Home Bay, Chris served on Zillow’s executive team as VP Strategic Partnerships, was Chief Operating Officer of Pacific Sotheby’s, and was a Regional V.P. for the NRT Division of Realogy. When he isn’t helping to map the future of real estate, you can find him chasing fresh powder on his skis or the latest ocean swell with a van full of surfboards.
A self proclaimed automation guru, Ross has been leveraging technology to streamline and simplify business processes for startups, government agencies, and non-profits for over 10 years. He leverages a background in econometrics combined with practical experience in data science, CRM science, and business analytics to build enterprise tech stacks for growing teams. Ross recently served as the Director of Business Operations & Intelligence for Underground Elephant before joining the Home Bay team in June 2017. He holds a BA in International Studies - Economics and a Master of International Affairs both from UC San Diego. When he's not busy automating, Ross enjoys gaming, sailing, theater, and all things Zelda.
